
The Story
The 2026 Canberra Raiders Indigenous Jersey features artwork by local artist Annalise Hanger.
The front of the jersey honours the seven clans that represent the Ngunnawal Nation and the Rivers that flow into the Murrumbidgee – Maloongoola, Biyaligee, Namitch, Cumbeyan, Kanberri, Toogoranoongh, and Woolobaloah. The Ngunnawal ancestors highlight the matriarchal power of women as creators, healers and knowledge holders. and represent whose spirits continue to protect and guide this country.
The side and sleeves of the jersey display track marks, recognising that each person comes from different walks of life and holds a unique story.
The back of Jersey elements feature the Maliyan (wedge-tailed eagle) totem watching over Country, surrounded by native plants. Below that are the Molonglo, Cotter, and Queanbeyan Rivers flowing into the Murrumbidgee River, a central element in Ngunnawal culture, songlines, and traditions.
